Hello all, haven't shared my recent finds lately but here's one from today. I've had my 1863 with 12.5 command transplant on c list for quite some time with no luck to sell. Found a guy about 2 hours away who had a 70 or so I thought for sale. We agreed to swap and when I showed up this morning it was an Original, serial 16,xxx. We were both happy with the trade even though it wasn't a 70, I'm a sucker for the early ones, so now I have another O. Got it running today and it runs decent, got some issues but overall decent with fenders.

Looks good Mike. No creepy hole or notched tower either. Are those rear rims the early ones? That thing got a horn too? Nice trade.

Thanks Todd. Yeah I actually could have gotten a jd110 square fender too but it was pretty rough and neither of these ran, the jd being much worse. And yeah it has some early traits and some later. Just realized while cutting off the "Johnny 5" lights that were on the middle of the grill that it's gotten a k181 transplant at some point in its life. Not sure about the horn but going to try to make it work. Someone cut the dash and put a charge gauge in, and it charges, at least it's an IH one.
Guy said the scrappers have been lurking lately so I'm glad I found it a home. The cyclops was decent but I only got it for the 3 point to go to Joisey. No deck and small engine but we both were happy at the end. I got the super smoker now so no need for another one eye. Now I need more O parts! Maybe the master will chime in and tell me the who, what, when, why about my horn.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
