Switch the relief valves and see if the problem moves to reverse. If not, you probably have a clogged hydro filter, in which case you'll need to change the Hytran and filter.

this must be the reason they got rid of this, as the handle to push the relief valves is gone, I think I can get to them anyway .Thanks Matt, will try. Set the points and it ran pretty good, as it has been sitting outside uncovered for better than a yr. hopefully, the hydro problem is not to significant, I will mess with it this evening . Again Thanks!

After looking at it a bit more it seems as if 1 of the relief valves is stuck !

relief valve was stuck , freed up and working good !! Thanks Matt !! Now the hydro lift works great, except for leaking like a siv out of the shaft end where the sheave is on the pump! what is the best way to go about this? is there a rebuild kit, or take it and have it done? Thanks !

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
