Just a pic of my 1211 I painted like a 88 series IH. Wheels haven't been done yet. I used caseih 2150 red with their thinner and wet look hardner. I'm going to reshoot the hood, not happy with the shine. I used my small hvlp gun with a 1.0 tip. maybe that and I may have not had the paint thin enough. The side panels and fenders look great! The frame I used rustoleum gloss black with the IH thinner and the wet look hardner, I would not recommend doing that again. Took a couple days to dry enough to touch. Frame looks awesome! I tapped the tunnel cover bolt holes the 1/4-20, did scratch the cover in one place though, dang it!

Looks good Brian. Are you going to shoot the wheels in the 88 Series colors or straight IH White?

Looks good Brian!
I think your 1.0 tip is a little small, I was thinking my gun is a 1.4 or maybe bigger. My gun is a gravity feed Devilbliss from the 90's, so its not an hvlp. Acrylic Enamels like to be a little thicker and they flow with the right reducer and hardner. Don't get it too thin or you will lose some durability. Keep us the good work! Randy

I'm gonna shoot them like a 88 series. I got one silver now. Gonna paint the centers black. I think the tip being 1.0 and the thinner is the problem. I've shot a lot of acrylic enamel with the sata hvlp gun at work with no problems. But that is nason paint and nason medium reducer an nason hardner. I'm gonna see, I may use the sata gun to respray the hood.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
