Default 122 auction Tractor

Here are the pictures of the tractor that I got last weekend at auction that you all help me get started. Upon inspection the belts on deck are almost new SG belt almost new, clutch looks like it was just redone. The only problem that I could find is that there are 3 small rusted out holes on mower deck. I should be able to get that welded. As you can see very lite surface rust and alot of dirt. I've mowed with it and it mows better than my ariens hydro. Next weekend I willl degrease and power wash the tractor.

Looks nice...most tractors in that series are getting pretty rough by now.

I don't think the clutch is very new...unless my eyes deceive me, that looks like the older 1-piece clutch disc. The new ones have a fiber layer on each side of a sheet of steel.

When I got home I had to look and see if my creeper grear was still in my cc100 now I have 2. Hey Duke sorry it's mine now. HA HA
Matt I'll have to go out and look tomorrow on that Clutch. Even if it's not new it's close to it. It's nice and thick and no chips. Nice and tight and works great.

Default 122 cub rebuild

hello fer100. I am a new member from statesville n. c. My dad and i have been doing a complete rebuild on his 122 he bought about two months ago for 100.00. it has been a lot of fun for both of us. It is some good father son time and we love cub tractors. I have a 1200 cub that we rebuilt last winter and it was a challenge. I still have a lot to learn about these old cubs but I think they are great little tractors. Anyway just wanted to say hello.

kelly 1200 it's good to hear from you. Welcome aboard. I do believe that the 122 is one of the best tractors going I now have 3. Enjoy your tractor time with your father it is memories that you will hold close to your heart. In the 60's and 70's I would help my father with his car's and always remember these times with him.
I hold North Carolina close to my heart I have family in Ashville and Sylva N.C. MY mother's family help settle what is the Great Smokey Mountain Park area. The N C Tenn State line ran through the center of there house in 1890. As my mom said it's GODS COUNTRY.
I believe that We all still have alot to learn about these machines. But learning is fun when you can do it with a bunch of great people like we have on this site. Take care have fun with the rebuild.

O I will. I've been out mowing with it and Driving it all around the yard fully open I believe top speed is 7 mph. But it's great. Have a snow/dirt plow, and a snowblower for them also a #4 trailer(need hitch for it). With hitch I can move my 8 x 10 trailer with it too. Thanks

HEY! I live in Statesville as well! If your 122 is red and has a front end loader I'm heading to the garage to see if mine is still there! hehe And here I thought I was all alone with a 122 in Statesville. Going to shoot you a pm.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
