Who uses a plow on their Original?

I was curious how well the cub originals get around while plowing? I was curious since they have a 7 horse and all if they do a decent job.

The 7hp wouldnt be a problem, the lack of weight for traction would be. Keep in mind a 'Plough' is intended for breaking new ground, and to do that you need at least 1000 lb tractor, you'ld have to add alot of weight on an O to get it up to that kind of weight. BUT... alot of plough action you see on garden tractor sites involves dragging the plough through previously cultivated soil, and for that an O with a creeper and just a little extra weight would likely do just fine.

I've seen pictures around the net of guys pullin plows on Originals at plow day events.

They seem to do just fine.

The 7 hp engines will do just fine, the problem with the Cub Cadets (and most any other garden tractor) is they run out of traction long before they run out of power.

I by no means am a guru to moldboard plowing, but I would think the plow set up is an important part, not the "little" seven hp engine. I've seen plenty pull one through "new" soil.
As Mark mentioned, traction seems to be the issue, not lack of power.
