K301 block

i was at the machine shop yesterday and was told the block out of the 1282 is junk, its worn to the point that .030 wont even save it. the local scrap yard has a real rough 1250 sitting there for $75 that i think im going to buy to get the block and part the rest, i cant think of any reason the block wont work but wanted to double check with you guys to make sure theres nothing i may be overlooking. thanks

not really, i may ask what it would cost but it would probably be more economical to buy the other tractor plus i need a few parts off it that were missing from the 1282.

Jon, isn't it true that it depends on the block of its a thick cast or something like that it can be bored to take a k321 or k341 piston? I was thinking I read that somewhere.

No. There are some K241 blocks that can be bored to a 301, but that's it as far as I know.

I would sleeve the old block my engine guy will do it for 65 dollars sleeve included
