Default 127 throttle problems

My 127 won't run for more than 5 mins until it won't run unless on choke with very little power. I just went thought the carb and cleaned the carbon in the cylinder but don't have much experience with throttle set up so some help would be appreciated. Also not sure what the governor does exactly or if I'm even looking at the right thing when I'm thinking of it.

Welcome to OCC.

Please explain what you mean by "just went thought the carb and cleaned the carbon in the cylinder".

It sounds like the fuel delivery system is clogged, the carb. is out of adjustment or the inside of main jet needle is clogged.

OR all of the above.

There are any number of other things that could cause what you describe, but this is where I'd start.

Can you give us any history on how it was running leading up to this event?

Well after sitting for 5 years I wen through the the carb just to clean it out and make sure nothing was clogged. Then I took the head off and clean the carbon build up on the cylinder and valves. It had the same problem before but not as bad as now...I sure the carb needs to be adjusted as I'm not for sure where the screws should be at. And I don't think the carb is clogged again cause if I run the throttle by hand at the carb it runs just fine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
