Picture of the Week: January 10, 2016
This weeks submission is sent to us by local member Jay Newsome aka jaynjeep from Statesboro GA. Jay comments "The tractor is a 128 that I picked up last spring. My dad took an interest in it and got it going over the last few months. The hitch and plow are Sears. Dad devised an adapter bracket for the sears hitch to go on a Cub Cadet way back in the 1970's. I like it way better than the Brinly stuff...much easier to set up and adjust. [/CENTER]
The driver is my 5 year old Nephew Ethan Darrow. We took the little Cadet to our local antique farm tractor plow day a few weeks ago...It was the smallest thing there but it really left an impression on a lot of the old farmers...they couldn't believe the work it would do. Ethan had a ball. I had to put the tractor in low gear and walk along beside. I was worn out by the end of the day from walking in the plowed dirt!" Thanks for the submission Jay!!! Some of my best memories as a kid in the 70's and 80's are from me and dad working on plowing and mowing with his cub cadets.. In fact that is how I learned about mechanical things and turning wrenches. I enjoy teaching youngsters and trying to pass things on to the next generation!
