4.80 wheel differences.Do some use bushings?
I horse traded for a set of 4.80x4 rims for Carson's tractor and didn't notice until I got home that 1 has bearings inside and the other looks to use bushings. It has a 1 inch hole or bigger. Since I want to put 3/4 spindles on,and use tri ribs,can I buy the bushing? Maybe someone has one for sale. What are my options? These are really rust free and I'd like to use them..

The CCO was the only model that used "bushings" in the front Rims. From the 70/100 Series and newer, ball bearings were used.

Are new bushings available? Or should I have one made for me? Maybe I could even swap even up if someone needs a nice rim..

Pat,Go to CC specialties and look under the wheel & tire section and their listed brand new for $9.00ea.

Pat if you want to change to 3/4" spindles just swap out the bushings for 3/4 bearings you can pick them up from your local cub dealer. They aren't cheap but work much better than bushings. I believe the bushings have a 7/8" hole, and I believe the bearings are 3/4" hole with a 1 3/8" od. I have the bearing part number from cub hear somewhere I'll look for it and post it for you.

I got my fronts of my 72 for a 100$ each from my local IH cub cadet dealer.That was new rim, inner + outter bearings and tire. But on my 71, the tires are still original and in "tip-top" shape even after all these years. So to say you could still find these parts around.
