Picked up a 100 thats pretty beat up. Bought it for the wheel weights and don't think I am up to fixing this one up. Probably use it for parts. I think the guys kids must have severely abused it!

I have to agree that it would end up being an expensive rehab. It may be better to part it so that more worthy machines may live.

Agreed. 70/100s are one of the best looking models in my opinion. Would love to find one down here. A couple hours of tear down and you're almost done! Good score none the less, needs some missing parts and tlc but I've seen and brought home much worse

Doesn't look too bad! I have for sure seen worse!
![]() Looks like it has a rear lift also... I agree with Alvy and some of the others... 70's and 100's are a great looking tractor and are very simple and easy to work on! ![]()

If it casts a shadow, then it can be restored! Heck if it were mine I'd have to try to crank it. If it ran decent then you'd have a good candidate for a complete tear down and restoration. Sounds like you got it maybe for the price of a set of wheel weights? If so you are starting with an essentially free tractor. Fix it or part it, either way its a good save, glad to see it ain't headed to the junkyard!

It doesn't look that bad to me. Bend the clutch pedal, add a shifter knob, some new tires and maybe a grille, and it'd be good to go.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
