Hey guys, does anyone know which terminal is which on the voltage regulator for a 125? Mine isn't labeled...

Each terminal will have a letter stamped into it, you might need to clean up the terminals with some sandpaper to see them.

Yep, you guys were right. It was stamped in it, but it was just really crusty and I had to clean it up good before I could see it.
So, I got it hooked back up correctly and now it goes full charge all the time. I'm getting 17+ volts at the battery. What should I check? Would a bad ground from the regulator base to the frame cause this? |

Long time stalker. You have to much voltage to the battery. you can adjust the regulator The pros in here can tell you how. |

The Voltage Regulator HAS TO be grounded. With a meter (DVM or VOM) measure the connection between the V/R mounting feet and the Battery Negative terminal. It should be zero ohms resistance.

You can adjust it as others have said. If adjusting makes no difference the s/g may be full fielded due to a shorted wire from F terminal to frame or shorted F terminal on s/g internally or shorted field winding. Grounding the F terminal makes this happen. Disconnect your F terminal on the s/g or v/r and see if your charge voltage decreases to 12 volts.
