Default Dozer Blade

After years of hard use, I am getting my 54" push blade ready for this winter. I have it tore down and I am in need of some information. The "A" frame bracket has a "wallowed out" pivot pin bore. I know the bore is .750" but I need the dimension from the bracket front to bore center line. See attached image.

Can someone measure & advise.

Not dimensions, sorry..but I had to have mine welded up two winters ago. Common wear part IMO.

I had to put in a new pin in the one I just acquired. What you need to do is make sure it's square with the bottom where the turn plate attaches. I used the turn plate and a large washer and made sure it was pushed against the bottom flat.

Hey Roland,

I will have to take the blade apart to get that measurement.
Will get it, just give me some more time.

Roland,

I don't think the distance from the center of the pin to the end is critical. However, the distance between the two pins is.

It is 4 1/8" from center to center on the pins.

Measured it this morning and it is 3/4" from the front of the frame to the center of the pin 17" from the rear of the frame to the center of the pin.
I know that there is not a lot of metal left in the front as the pin itself is 3/4" diameter and the overall length of that frame is only 17 3/4" but that is what I came up with. Will check it again for the measurement that Jonathan gave.

Roland, I may make it to the Small Engine Show. If I do, would you like for me to look for this A-frame part for you? Just PM me and let me know. If I go, it will be on either Friday or Saturday. If you do, let me know your price limit on one of those.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
