That's a lot better than spending $1500 on a plastic throw away lawn tractor!

The ad is a month old and he sent me 3 emails in 15 minutes. I couldn't believe it was still there. He says he has $2,000 in it and wants me to make an offer.

I can't get there till Thursday.

I'm not typically a Narrow Frame guy but honestly, if that popped up around here, I'd probably jump on it. Looks like a very nice machine! If it runs and moves without any weird noises, I'd snag it in a New York minute!

Heck, if it wasn't 4 hours from me I may have deemed it worth the trip!

Thanks to everyone for the input. I really had no intentions of buying another tractor, but if it's still there on Thursday, I'll probably go for it.

I'm new to Cub Cadets. I've seen other references to narrow/wide frame. What's the difference? Is one better than the other, etc?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
