A model 1000 "quiet line series" has internal brakes, but did they have fine splined axles?

They shouldn't have the fine spline axles, those didn't begin being used until MTD/CCC took over

Didn't the International Cub Cadet model 582 have fine spline in it?

I'm not an 82 series expert but I believe you will find that only the CCC/MTD 582's will have a fine spline axles/differential.

So to answer your question (to the best of my ability). None of the IH built tractors had the fine spline axles.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
