Default Quiet Line Photo Shoot

So since I got my 1650 project back together, I decided to load it into the truck and head up to my co-worker/friend's place. He's got the 1450 that I did my first Quiet Line overhaul to. We threw back some cold ones and I replaced his electric PTO clutch which would no longer re-engage when hot. He also needed a grease zerk replaced on the right side of the front axle, so I drilled and tapped it and replaced it with a new one. Both of his right side ISO mount bolts were spinning, so they got snugged, too. Then it was time to get the two tractors out in the field for some photo action. His tractor was also one owner and is in very good shape. His 44A deck is among the best I've seen.

Say what you will about the Quiet Lines, love them or hate them, but when they're cleaned up and right, they're one of the best looking Cubs IH made.

It was a good Cub weekend...

They look great!

Mom still mows weekly with a 1450 that dad bought new in 1975. I also cut half the neighborhood as a kid in the 1980's with it. Still going strong 40 years later with one engine overhaul, and a cosmetic overhaul about 10 years ago

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
