Default Need 782 mag 18 repower electrical help!

So I picked up an mag 18 to repower my 782. I got the wiring harness too, but did not receive the key switch. Will the original switch from 782 work, or is that the part where the different types of ignition come from? I apologize if I'm not making sense, but if I'm not you can see why I need the assistance. Thanks.

the easiest thing to do is use the 782 switch take the wire that sends power to the coil out of the plug at the engine on tractor side of the connector and tape it up.then get a switch toggle or push button that will fit into the hole at the bottom right of the dash [1/2" hole I think] ground 1 terminal to the frame and run a wire off the other terminal to the wiring connector at the engine..the mag engine has to be grounded to shut it off if you put 12 volts to any magneto coil you'll fry it and need a new one

The reason I'm trying to use the the 1811 harness is because it also has the oil sensor. i would also like it to be a clean job. If I have to get a different key switch, I will. Just thought you fine folks could let me know. Thanks

I'd use a relay. Then it's all nice and clean, and dies with the key.

Update: I did some research and saw that the key switch from my 582 was the same part number as the one I needed for the mag 18. I put it in, wired it all up, and was able to get it running. Thanks all for your help.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
