I picked up my 341 from the machine shop yesterday. starting to put it together today and the piston clearance seems to be correct at .007/.010 but my ring gap is only .006 it looks like they should be .010/.020. Do i need to take it back to the shop or do i file the rings to get the gape i need. As always thanks for the help.

I'd take the block, and the rings to the shop and have them file fit them. Unless you have a ring filer and know how. If you do, what are you waiting for!

just take a flat file. clamp it in a vise. then hold the ring square to the file and move it back and forth. pretty much all I do. you do need to make sure you keep it square so you have a nice straight cut at the end gap

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
