Default New 149

Well yesterday afternoon I get this phone call from a friend whom has a 149 saying if I want it no reasonable offer would be refused or he was gonna scrap it. I told him he would be lucky to get $75 at a scrap yard and less if they have to come get it. He tells me the hydraulics are a little sluggish. I offer him a Bennie and he tells me sold and come get it. A new air filter and hyd filter and the starting issues and sluggish hydraulics are solved.Thx Jon Also has a QA42 deck with it. Needs a couple small weld repairs. This thing purrs like a kitten.
Lew check out the seat.

Did you at least wear a mask while you loaded it? Congrats on the new toy.

Nice score. Is that considered a " Lew " price? Makes one wonder how many perfectly good Cubs got scrapped by owners who lost interest. And a deck too, can't beat that with a stick.

Amazing deal. Now your buddy can scrap whatever he replaced the 149 with, and you can mow his lawn for him with it while he shops for another new POS.

Pretty sure that qualifies as a Lew price.

Nice pickup, looks like a replacement engine too, great price. Depending on where the seat came from you paid for the whole tractor what some people pay just for the seat. It's sad that some if these go to the scrapper, thanks too for saving it.

It is sad to see people getting rid of such a great machine.. Junk yard near me has three or four,, just sitting there... I think I need to save them.. Nice tractor.. Looks like it is in great shape!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
