Default Flat Belt Pulley

I have been told that a flat belt pulley gearbox from a Cub will swap over to any older model Cub Cadet with the PTO output shaft. Does anyone have any diagrams of the guts of the gearbox? How does it attach, or does it simply slide over the existing output shaft and bolt on? Same parts and simply bolt on regardless of model? If I buy a Cub gearbox off of someone, are there internal parts I need to get from the Cub it's coming off of to make it work? Thanks for the help!

Yes it will bolt on. Just slides over the PTO shaft and bolts in place. Nothing special needed.

There are a couple members here who have them. Maybe one will post a pic.

I am interested in this as well. We run several Hit-n-miss engines at some of the tractor shows we attend. Those run flat belt equipment. I thought it would be cool to put one of these on my original and be able to belt up to some of the equipment as well. If the tractor does not have the PTO option is it an "easy" add or does it require the swap of the rear gear case?

I believe you can find the internals and rear cover once in a while on ebay to do the conversion. I have the 90 degree Pto box minus the big pulley.

Wondering when CAD will post pics of the awesome 800 with rear Pto

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
