I have always wondered about the diff in these garden tractors... When I am in soft sand or dirt or pulling a stump out, it spins but it will mainly spin both rear tires but one seem to have more powr then the other but not much more. So I have. Always wondered if they are "pozi" or limited slip? Or what? Idk...

Plain old open rearend. Diff lock would be a cool option though.

I'd love to have a diff lock option too--- the way they are made is so they can turn corners.

Works great on the letter series tractors. I can't tell you how many times I had to walk out dads H from a snow bank when pushing in the winter by alternating brake pedals. This is with calcium tires and three 144 lb weights on each wheel.

You can have wheel brakes and still have a cub cadet but you have to go to the SGT side. All three of our SGTs (2072, 2084 and 2086) have two brake pedals on the right side that do not affect forward speed but apply left or right rear brake just like the big farmalls. The pedal on the left side of thr tractor not only applies the brakes but also returns the speed lever to neutral. About the only time I have ever needed the right side brakes is when one wheel loses traction as when pushing snow or pulling something heavy. The two brake pedals on the right side can be locked together with a flip over lever identical to the big boys.

You can put steering brakes on a GT. You just have to do a little "fab" work. Agreed, not a factory thing, but very doable.

You can also just put your rump on the fender of the wheel the spins the most... It's free and works 95% of the time... The other 5%? Get your winch/truck out.
