Well I'm putting the finishing touches on my 1440 updating and it will soon be ready to mow with again, putting my 2186 back on the bench in a backup position.

I've decided to continue with my updating duties as I look at my 127 and my 149. The 149 is the first Cub I ever bought and it hasn't been used for probably 10 years and will require much attention. The 127 started and moved real good from the shed to the garage but I really haven't used it for any work in 5 or 6 years. I think I'll focus on the 127 next. I'm talking the usual hydro service, engine oil and filters of course, driveshaft inspection, wheel bearings, etc. What else might you all suggest I consider taking a look at on this 127? Thanks, you insights are always appreciated. Where can I find one of those rag joints for the driveshaft if I would need one?

45 views and nobody knows where I can find a rag joint.

I was bidding on 3 of then in a set on Ebay and lost. I thought I had a high bid but I guessed wrong. Maybe Jeff in Pa can knock out some of these as well if he can find the rubber material needed. I just got my brass buttons and they're real nice. I'll PM him.

You can also start a thread in the Trading Post section of the forum for a rag joint, if you need one. I have heard of people making their own, as well. Let's hope that you do not need one. Both the 127 and 149 are great tractors. With a little tune-up, I'm sure both of them will be ready for action.Cub Cadet 123

It seems to be the best place to find parts for a Cub Cadet. ![]() When I need parts, I look there first. Then, if it's NLA, I look elsewhere. |

Thanks guys. The Dealer??? who would have thought..

I do use the dealers from time to time but I find that they don't have parts for the 40 year old stuff. I just never thought the would still have such a part. I guess I could check with them if it turns out mine are in need of replacement. All my tractors are always indoors so this help retain lots of the parts.

			Exactly.

This is usually what separates the dealer from other sources...$$$$$ it's always about the money, no matter the topic. I have to admit, I've seen the dealer have a better price for a new item than some guys are asking for used. Sort of reminds me of auction prices... I went to one auction and saw to many old things going for more than new ones and these old things were not better than new ones. Oh well, to each their own.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
