Do you have the end of the driveshaft supported good so its not moving around? If you have an air compressor i recommend an air hammer with a roll pin bit. Sometimes there a real bear and you can beat on them forever but they pop right out with the air hammer.

The one you linked to will probably work, you can use a flat hammer bit to get it moving and drive it the rest of the way with a hammer and punch but if you can try to find an air hammer roll pin bit thats a little smaller than the pin so it doesnt get stuck in the driveshaft.

Seriously? I've never seen those. Not even in the Snap-On catalog. Does someone make them?

FWIW, since you're looking at China tools anyhow, my HF air hammer has been just fine the 6-8 times I've used it. As a hobbyist the opportunity to use one only pops up every so often.
$9.99: http://www.harborfreight.com/air-imp...kit-92037.html Not sure what is included with that "kit" but mine came with 5 bits and the "pointy" one is plenty to start a stubborn pin, then just finish up with a regular punch and hammer. HF bit collection, $5.99: http://www.harborfreight.com/4-Piece...Set-68277.html Thes are NOT pro quality tools but they're not made of total peanut butter either. |

I guess I have seen things pretty seized up, but not one of those. Seems like a little heat on the shaft would help break it loose. I have not ever used an air hammer for pin removal, on the other hand I have never had one give me that much trouble. Good luck getting it out. TB

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
