Default Have you seen this option?

Here's some pics of a light that attaches to the steering of my 100. Has anyone seen this option? Or is this even an IH option? I just got this 100 and hadn't seen this on any Cub, just curious and would appreciate any info. I wasn't able to see any part #'s, or any markings on the light, the lighting was poor...
Thanks!

Looks like a home brew light fixture to me. Pretty cool how they set it up to turn with the wheels. I guess if you did a lot of work at night with it that would be the way to go.

The guy I got I got this cub from, was the nephew of one of the engineers that worked on the Cub project, this was actually his machine. He has a proto-type Original that doesn't have any s/n on it... I haven't seen it yet, but he's going to send me pics of it eventually. The Smithsonian has indicated they wanted it, not sure what he intends to do with it... So that side story was just to lead into the possibility that he may have been proto-typing an option that just never gained traction, just not sure...

If, this is in fact a prototype cub. How cool is that!?!

But I'm confused, you have it now, but the Smithsonian wants it? How did the Smithsonian find out about it?

Either way, to cool!

No, I have this 100 that was owned by an engineer on the Cub project, his nephew has a prototype "O"... I'm hoping to get some pics, and I'll post them when I do.

I've been thinking about this basic concept with some of the $2 ebay LEDs forever...

Then I thought about just using like 10 of the $2 LEDs and forgetting the steering idea.

Very neat mod!

You need some high pressure sodium lights up on the hood like they have on the Deadliest Catch ships.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
