I have a iPad. It is about 2.5 yrs old. Since day one, this tablet seems to have fragile "charging cables", to the point now, I have replaced it six times.
Is there a Heavy Duty or a better cable than OEM, and if so, what? ![]()

Roland, I have had the best luck with "Belkin" brand replacements/accessories.
Your mileage may vary.... Cubby Guy

My wife & I both use I-pads. Daughter & son-in-law also. All of us have original apple cables & since new (3yrs) never had a problem.
Stick with original (?) maybe your charging problems will stop? Don't really know? ? ? NIK,

The problem is NOT a charging issue. The connection at the 30 pin connector, seems to come apart. To add, I have a 8 yr old grandson that problem doesn't help the problem. He is using the tablet more than I do. I am thinking when he detaches the cable he pulls from the cable instead of the connector. Then after multiple pulls, that joint fails.

Apple isn't known for producing "bad" cables and in fact the reputation is usually the opposite (stupid/expensive cables, but quality). It's probably something about how its being used that is causing them to fail so quickly.
Have you considering permanently (well, sort of... something like a drop or two of hot glue) attaching the cable to the connector, coiling up the wire and sticking it on the back, and then just use a USB extension cable to plug it in? My fear would be without correcting the behavior or just permanently attaching the cable you'll eventually break the port on the tablet. |

I can confirm that Apple cables are not the best quality. I've been using their products since 2005 and even back then, the Macbook charging cable, the plastic split right at the plug after a few months .Same with my iPad and iPhone. I've upgraded my Macbook recently and the new one seems to have a stiffer plastic that looks like it may last longer. Time will tell.
I would caution you against third party cables. It was discovered that the chinese were/are embedding chips into the charging cable that would infect the iPhone/iPad with malicious firmware. YMMV. |

I've got an ipad and iPhone and both take the latter lightning connector. Of the three, one of them has a small section where the insulation is shredded. Don't know why, but it has seen sun and probably some greasy fingers. The way the insulation is coming off, it reminds me of the wiring on my 126....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
