I got all the regular maintenance done on my new to me 882. Now I need to do some upgrading. I have lots of uneven areas in the back of my property, and I plan to fill the tires and add wheel weights. I'm worried about frame flex with my aluminum rear axle. I have seen axle braces and a rear plate to tie the frame ends together. I am looking for opinions of who makes the best set of axle braces and rear frame plate. I have seen a few online but I'm looking for first hand experience of who has the best setup, pics would be great if available. Thank You.

Xtreme AKA Sam Mac brace. The GT brace is what you should look at as long as it has external brakes.

Yep, Xtreme is the only one I know of making Sam's Brace. It is a great design.
Any rear frame cover off of a newer cyclops tractor will work. I think the last time I looked RF Houtz had them for around $30 a few years ago. I would think that all the sponors at the top of the page could help you out. You could also make your own if you have some steel and a welder.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the website and see there is a GT Race Brace and a GT reinforcement brace. I'm not sure what the difference is, other than price. I do have external brakes. I guess I will have to call and find out what the difference is. Bigger and stronger is always better in my eyes, especially with a Diesel. I rather invest the money now before something breaks rather than after something breaks.

I installed Sams braces on my 2072. I had experience driving my machine both before and after the installation and the braces really made a difference. If your rear end bolts are tight you do not have any problem yet with that rear and the addition of the braces is cheap insurance against stripped out bolt holes and a ruined rear. Nobody wants to ruin their rear. Since you will have to take nearly all the axle tube bolts out to install the braces I would also suggest you drill a hole or holes on the inside bottom of each axle tube. Sam Mac explains this procedure in a different post. We had to remove the axle tubes to replace the axle seals anyway and when we did we got a lot of water out of each tube drilling the holes allows fluid to flow freely into and back out of each tube.
