Default 3 Pin Driver Butch Job

Howdy folks. I was trying a method suggested buy some fellow members here. And that was to use a solid 3 pin driver with a 1200 iso setup instead of the 3 pin flex disk. Now admittedly, my first attempt did not go as planned. The plan was to knock out the center hub of the solid driver, then clean up the center hole to allow it to be bolted over the ball bushing pilot assembly. Well, knocking the center hub out did "work", but it made a mess of the center hole. Once the hub was knocked out the hole was already too big the seat evenly on the lip of the pilot bushing assembly. It will probably still be usable. I know some folks are gonna say to just use solid mounts and a solid driver and it will be fine (they already have), and I agree that that is a viable option. I will go that route if I have to, but there is no rush and I can experiment some with this iso setup and change it up later if I need to. So, here is the pics of the butch job (no offense Butch!). I don't have access to a lathe, or a buddy who is a machinist, so for now I am on my own. Fun stuff! Thanks TB

It might work OK. Even though the center hole is caty-wompus (technical term for fubar, which, come to think of it, is a technical term for messed up!) it should not vibrate too much because the four bolts keep it centered and the variation in the hole is close to the rotation axis so any vibration should be minimized.

I say give it a try.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
