hello I am looking for a cub cadet 149 implement pressure relief valve spring or a complete charge pump assembly with the pressure relief valves still attached. My lift cylinder doesn't. Work well because the valve spring is exhausted so its not building working pressure. They don't make the implement relief valve spring anymore and I'm having a rough time finding even a complete pump assembly. I am looking to purchase one immediately because the grass is getting tall! Thank you

The charge pump does not contain the relief valve. It is in the body of the hydro unit. The relieve valve spring IS still available from CCC, it is part number SU-3101536.
Used hydros are not hard to find at all. Honestly, I've not seen one of these springs fail, although I suppose it's possible. Are you sure that is what is wrong? I'd honestly come nearer to thinking the charge pump is bad. ![]() ![]() I understand that you are new, but you posted this in the wrong section. If you are looking for a part, it needs to go in the "wanted" section. Please read the policies before posting. If you just want to discuss your issue, then it needs to go in the "IH cub cadet GT" section. Not picking on you, just helping you to understand the forum. You get better responses when your query is posted in the proper section. ![]() |

There are 2 relief valves. The part number you gave me is the regular charge pump relief valve that builds 200 OSI system pressure. I need the implement relief valve that builds 650 psi working pressure that moves the linear actuator that moves the deck. The spring that is currently in the machine does not meet specification anywhere close. I'm going to end up making one.

Your looking for part #SU-3102301 Cub Cadet Spring, Implement Relief Valve as you said it's NLA. I'd try these guys. They do give the specs for the spring in the service manual if you do need to make one.
http://www.precisionfluidpower.com/c...FeMF7AodcA0A6Q It looks like you can get that spring in the service kit for about $185. Cub Cadet SU-9510385-0003 Kit, Relief Valve

I don't profess to know much (if anything) about the inner workings of these hydro transmissions.
I do understand the hunger that some of us have to repair things our-self and the pleasure that doing so brings. Please excuse me if I'm missing something but, to me, the "easy fix" is to buy a good used one, replace the seals, install it and move on. At least one of the members here sells ported transmissions for a little bit of nothing. You might try putting an ad in the wanted section.

I came up with a lighter spring and installed and at least it goes up and down now although its running at a lower working pressure. I found a dealer out of the united kingdom and I have a spring on order. They still manufacture replacement springs over seas. As far as replacing the entire unit for a faulty relief valve spring, that is unnecessary as I am a journeyman mechanical technician and certified machinists. I troubleshooting hydraulic systems everyday. I could be considered a hydraulics and pneumatics expert. If I were to change an entire pump unit for just a faulty relief spring my fellow journeyman would chastise me. Thank you for your help gentlemen.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
