Default Picked Up an "O"!!

I picked up an Original today. Serial #59559. Far cry from my old #653 but I like it!! Sheet metal is in excellent condition I can't believe how nice the hood and seat are. Not currently running but the engine turns free and I don't think it should take much to get it going. Can someone refresh my memory as to what the last serial number for the Originals was?

Thanks Lew, no I actually picked those weights up last weekend. Believe it or not my wife spotted them mounted on an Ariens lawn mower in a guys yard near our local gas station. She said "hey I think those are IH weights" and of course I had to stop and check...sure enough they were! Made a Lew offer and took them home

A bonus was that 3 out of the 4 bolts holding on the weights were IH

Great find Martin, you're on a roll lately. What's up with the new found cub buying at a rapid pace?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
