i painted everything with a can. i used one of those handy spray gun handles that attaches to the top of a spray can, got it at home depot. it was a total world of difference, no more cramped fingers!
![]() i must say it would have been much more difficult to achieve this much completion without the wealth of knowledge on this website. between different how-to threads, other peoples' struggles, and the chassis manual, i was able to go more in depth of the restoration that was planned. so cheers to that!

I've never worked on an "O" so I don't know if this will help, but my 72 had a K181 in it, so maybe this is the same? Not sure.

I just did this with the throttle cable,I cheated and looked at my other one...
The manuals on this site show how it is routed on page 14 of the operators manual.Through the slots on the dash tower, then under the battery box,and then it comes out the bottom on top of the frame. Then it connects to a clip on the bolt that holds on the oil pan on.The choke is the same way but is not bolted anywhere.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
