Default No clue what model #

Hello, I'm new to this site so if this is in the wrong place I apologize... Alright so I purchased this pulling tractor.. It's supposedly a 1965 but I'm not sure, has the 15hp Kohler but has been completely rebuilt and bored, bigger pistons all that good stuff. It will only run when hooked to a running vehicles battery, I would say it's the alternator but I know this doesn't have one. Any clues? Also I am needing to know the possible model numbers so I can purchase air filters and such, any help would be greatly appreciated!

We'll I'm no expert but I assure you that's not a 1965. Looks like a 126

That tractor is of the 1X6/7 Series of Cubs. I would "assume" it is a Gear Drive tractor, so I am guessing it is a 106 or a 126.

I'm assuming it's a 126 since it looks identical to a 127 and is not a hydrostatic

Well anybody know how to solve the issue of it not running when it's not hooked to a running car?

I will also say 126 or 106. I can see a bit of a gear shifter. The black end of the shifter blends in with the seat.

Looks like the frame is modified out around the flywheel, if so then I would say it is a 147---unless that is a PO mod. I cast my vote for a 147. Looks like a fun cub. Have you put a new battery into it?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
