Go for it! My 1200 is a reliable work horse and is my only WF gear drive. It is a lot of fun to control and handles well. If you only have a NF at this point, then you need to get a WF to add to your collection.

Be sure to check the engine mounting bolts and the iso mounts, also check the 3 pin driver for cracks.

WF gear drives are my favorites. Recently restored a 1000, It's a great tractor. Definitely check the iso mounts, and the three pin driver as already noted. Probably will need a driveshaft flex joint replacement, and maybe some clutch work.

Default Headlights?

Did these 1200's not have any front lights? I'd sure like to add them if possible

Dave

Headlights were a option. All that's needed is a fuse and holder put in the 2nd hole in the dash column and bolt the panel in

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
