I know it's probably in here 100 times in other threads, but I don't have the time search all the archives. I would like to know what are the correct paint colors for the 1972 CC 129. I think the yellow is still available through Cub Cadet (MTD), but the white. . . . Is it the same as Case IH or CNH 935? I thought it was CNH 901 but I hear it is NLA. I'm not interested in a custom paint mix from the auto parts or other paint supplier. I want aerosol. I'm not doing a show room restore, I just want a good looking workhorse with the correct colors. Any help appreciated.

Hey J-Mech, thanks for the link to the color chart. I knew it had to be in here somewhere, but I am a new member here and still haven't figured out where everything is and how to go about finding everything. The link is certainly appreciated.
Now for a new thought to ponder. This tractor is built by International Harvester Company. Just to be different, I was also considering the possibility of painting all the yellow parts IH Red or Farmall Red and the white parts Farmall white. I know that isn't how they come from the factory, but I thought it might look OK and unique. Some of the later CC's came red and black, but if I wanted one that paint scheme, I would just see if I could buy a 982 or something. I'm thinking the red and white might be nicer. I would like some input from some other folks. Matthew |

That's what we're here for!
![]() Your paint scheme isn't a new idea.... it's been done before. Adam (IhinIN) did it best IMHO. Click on pic for the link to the thread. ihinin.jpg |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
