Default Finally got my 71 and 124 home

The weather has been nice enough this week that I could finally get to my cousin's house to load up these Cubs. They are rough around the edges with lots of redneck engineering applied but I think they might have potential. The 71 hasn't had any modifications that can't be reversed. The 124 has good options (hydraulic lift, 3 point) but has been abused.

LOL!

Congrats on the tractors! Kick all the "junk" off of them, and they don't look too bad!

Good finds with lots of "goodies" on them!! The weather has been bad and you waited a while to get them, but it sure looks like they were worth waiting on. Congratulations!!

Congrats on the two tractors
Used but not used up, both should clean up well.

There are modifications and then there is contamination by the enemy, that John Deere battery must go!
I must admit that is a good way to add 40lbs of weight to the rear.

WOW! The battery on that 71 should last a long time.

Nice find with the 124 w/ 3 point hitch and looks like a hydro lift.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
