Default Replacing rear axle seal on my 1782
Noticed a slight leak and plan to replace the seals and probably the bearings. Is it a pretty sraight forward project or are the tricks to doing this?

The quick and dirty, jack it up, remove the wheels and brake calipers, pull the rear cover, pop the c-clips off the axles. Pull the axels, pull the seals, replace the seals and put everything else back together. Download the manual. All the Hydros are pretty much the same.

So far I have not seen an axle bearing that was bad, so no I did not forget the bearings but if you have a bad one by all means replace it.

I've replaced seals but never a bearing. That's not to say the bearing wasn't loose but the new seal stopped the leak, probably for my lifetime.

X2 the cyclops tractors have some pretty heavy duty bearings in them, the ones in my 1782 were just fine, but if they do need replacing pull the seal, remove the ring clip and replace the bearing.
