Default Hello from Rockport, IN

Hi all:

I have always love the Cubs. I lived in Decatur IN and went to Portland where I fell for them. I currently have a 1978 Cub 1000. I think it is very nice original condition. I got it from the first owner. It needs a clutch to work. I am looking for a rear plow and what it needs to attach to the Cub. I have a bad problem with old Coleman lanterns an stoves, don't know why. I am a airplane mechanics by schooling but work for a large utilities in the substations dept. As always be ready for dumb questions. I will try to keep them simply. Thanks and I hope to get an learn for you guys. Almost forgot got a, according to my wife, perversion with cast iron cook wear.

Welcome!

Pull up a chair, pour the coffee and stay a while. This is a fantastic place to find out all things Cub Cadet.

I have my late Dads CC 800 (1976 vintage) he bought when he retired from IH.

One of the members here makes the "sleeve hitch adapter" kit so that you can use Brinly/Agri-Fab ground engaging attachments such as the moldboard breaking plow, disc harrow and cultivator with your Cadet.

Yes just love the sound the lanterns make, when lit. They are fun to rebuild. It will surprise a fellow how different each one is. I cook with cast iron so it is fun fo cook on the old stoves.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
