The front pto on my WF 128 was in pretty rough shape the main body was pretty messes up so at Portland to today I picked up a new main body and hoping the guy knew what he was talking about. He told me that all the front clutch's were the same only thing different was some had one pressure spring and some have two. Ok when I get home I compare the two the junk one has little tabs cast into it that hold the pressure springs and the one I bought has none can I still put two pressure springs in the one I bought?

No, you just set it up at a type "B". Look at the part numbers.

I have the PTO that came with tractor. The set screws had to bored out to get it off the shaft. Can I drill next size bigger and retap the holes? Will this affect anything ?

Then finish drilling thru the set screw(s) with a 13/64" ( .203 ) drill. That is the size drill you use for tapping 1/4-20NC and will allow you to clean the threads with minimal damage. No need to drill oversize. |

was able to drill and tap 5/16-18 this should work right?
![]() I looked at the pto diagram above part #5 all 3 types are the same part number but are little different between the A and B with the 6 little tabs sticking out of the B type my original question is can I make a narrow frame pto into a wide frame by just adding one more spring or do those tabs make a difference? if so I want to make the narrow frame pto into a wide for a spare and use my original on my tractor now |

When I got my 125 back in '03, it had a wide frame PTO. I never took notice of it ( as it worked perfect ) until I made my first brass PTO button. ( in other words, it'll work just fine) |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
