Hello! I haven't been on site in long while, have found some great posts/pics/ideas So.. Thanks!
I've got a 1200 it's serial is 2050058U536321. I understand the serial is after the "U"..correct? so my serial of 536321 should be built on Jan 1975.. (using IHCC faq sheet) Are there any pages or website that break it (serial #) down further to date of week?, or assembly plant?..(sorry I don't know if CC's had more than one "place of birth") On my mower deck is plate with: 44A serial # 0320017U018446. This is giving me some trouble 'cause the center pulley was so rusted I can't tell if it was 4.5 or 5in. On the parts look up sites they list both, which means I'd need the matching belt. Anyone know if I read the deck's serial the same...after the "U"? I think I remember shops changed the pulley to speed up the blades, is this still done? Thanks! |

if the 44a used the 4 1/2 in pulley those are a little harder to find used and the belt no going by memory is 59971c1

Sorry I haven't got this cut, paste, or insert thing figured out..yet.
Re: R Bedell, thanks... BUT i have put in 44A. And both Cub Cadet.com and cubs-n-parts.com show the same parts look up page that list 2 pulleys. Cub Cadet Specialties also lists both. |

In the 44/50 series of mower decks there are there versions:
(1) 44 & 50 (2) 44A & 50A (3) 44C & 50C The 44 & 50 were introduced for the 1x8/9 Series tractors that had Mechanical PTO's/ The 44A & 50A were introduced for the Quietline tractors series that had Electric PTO's The 44C & 50C were introduced for the 82 Series tractors that had Electric PTO's and a 5/8" drive belt. Per the Parts Manual, here is the Center Pulley data: 44 = IH-59703-C1 44A = IH-126393-C1 44C = IH-140280-C1 There is only one correct pulley for each series. Now with all the buzz about "speed up" pulley's, is simply placing a 44A center pulley on a 44 Deck and on a 1x8/9 series tractor. That will give you more spindle speed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
