Default CC 105 Hydro Leak

Hey all, I recently noticed I've got two solid leaks coming from my new to me 105. One looks to be the right rear wheel axle carrier gasket:

The other developed after my first mowing session at the center of the tractor. Based on other threads, I thought it might be that cork gasket that everyone says seems to be typical but upon taking photos and looking at parts diagrams I'm a bit nervous that I have some non standard plumbing for my "cooling tube" and that might be the source of the leak.

That doesn't look at all like #34 on this drawing:

I plan to clean it all up and see where it starts weeping from but any thoughts? Also, where are some good jacking points and jack stand supports for this thing? The manual makes it seem like I can jack it by the axle carriers(bottle jack?) and support it at the rear diff case. I wouldnt mind using a floor jack and jack stands to service it but I want to make sure I don't put it anywhere structurally unsound.

Thanks!

I am goin threw the same issue with a leak on my 149. I ran into that pipe problem on mine. There was a year break and a design change to that pipe. A one piece like I have and a three piece like you have. Both fit and both serve the same purpose. I thought my pipe was leaking but when I replaced the crush sleeve it is still leaking from the hydro. Seems to be the cork gasket. Hope this helps good luck.

Welcome new guys...

Do not fret! IH used a dozen different pick-up tubes on the hydro rear end/pumps, and the one you posted is one of them.

About the only options you have is to clean the transmission and rear end well, wait for the leaks to reappear and then take the appropriate steps to correct them or tear it down, seal it all up and then wait for the leaks to reappear (this may take several years).

If you do pull it out to repair any leaks, you might as well reseal everything while you have it out... If that is the case, why worry about where the leaks are coming from you're going to reseal them anyway. Unless of course it is coming from the tube and then you would want to replace it.

Good Luck

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
