Default What tractor is this?

Hey guys, I was looking through some old photos that my Grandma had and I found this old one of me on my first tractor!! My Grandpa redid this one for me when I was a little kid and I would like to locate another one to fix up. The problem is that I have no idea what kind of tractor it is or year and my Grandpa cant remember either. I know this is THE Cub site but anybody have any ideas? Thanks, Mark

Looks like a Rugg made mower. There was one with that front end awhile back on Ebay. Your best bet for finding one is doing CL or Ebay searches for vintage mower or mustang mower or huffy mower. Whoever is selling likely won't know what it is.

You might want to try asking the guys on the Rugg yahoo group.

Sorry to bring this one back up guys but I'm really stumped!! I have almost burned up my computer looking! I have checked wards, huffy, ride a matic, Viking, western auto, and penncraft . The closest I can find or come up with is maybe a MTD that was sold for another store. The penncrafts look like a fit but I can't find enough pics from different angles. Thanks for ANY help, Mark

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
