Default My 2nd cub 149

Went to Pennsylvania today and picked up a cub 149. It looks a lot nicer than the first one I bought. Paid more for it though. Came with a nice snow blade. The ignition switch is messed up. Key falls out after starting. Bad battery and not sure if it is charging. Will have to learn how to check out the charging system. We all love pictures so here are 3 pictures taken just after I arrived home. Left home at o8:30 and arrived back at 5 pm. New trailer and old car performed quite well, but man was it windy. Really sucked the gas.

Ya, that's a good looking 149. I think that is the nicest looking series of tractors.

Nice find on the 149! Boy, your grass sure looks green. Spring is just around the corner.

On the key thing, I've seen some cubs with a small chain or zip tie from the key to the tractor to keep the key from walking away.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
