Default Stack pipes are cool?
Hi,

I replaced head gasket on my 1450. During this repair I noticed that muffler was also shot. Also I hate the way it is designed in QL's. Heating the engine + making me smell burnt gas after driving... So I decided to install stack pipe. I made two things that seem to be unusual 1. I made it go thru hood, mainly because I will be installing a loader some day and wanted to keep pipe out of its way. 2. I routed it to right side of tractor to get a better support for it. It is not 100 % complete yet but see pics and give me comments good and bad. I will be adding another firm support from head stud after engine cools and I can retorque the head. Also bend will be installed on top of pipe.

Nice work on the stack. I'd love to do something like that on my 149 but I don't want to mess with taking it off and on to raise the hood.

That looks way cool! I also hate the QL exhaust...

I've thought about having a pipe run out the back, automotive style.

Pretty neat! I wouldn't wanna mess with taking the stack off to raise the hood,I thought about routing it out the side panel and notching it for the exhaust. Cool idea ,if it works for you great! Thanks for sharing! Oh whats up with the front of your deck? Looks like 2 or 3" are missing?

I do not know. It came to me this way few years back. If I had to guess I would say that corrosion is what happened.

Very nice work on the pipe and stack design. Well braced and looks good coming out the hood.

Glad someone joined me going out the hood! I don't know if you have to take your stack off to take the hood off but I don't, just copied a backhoe or a skidsteer.
