Default cigeratte lighter wiring

I was given an cigeratte lighter from a Cub 149, with no instructions, that I want to install in my Cub 169 . Family claims their father had dealer install it when he purchased the 149 new.
I was going to hook a wire from the rear post to the battery side of magnetic switch with an 15 amp fuse. But I don't know if it should be grounded. It is mounted on the fiber glass cowling, but there isn't an extra post on the lighter.
I want to use it to power my 12V tractor radio while woking in the garden.

The dash has a metal backing the lighter gets its ground from that.

There is no metal backing where the cub 149 & 169 has the hole in the fiber glass cowling for the cigarette lighter. That is what confused me.

Ok. I haven't owned that series yet so I didn't know. Probably wouldn't be hard to put a ground wire under the screw on back and put it to the frame. Or solder it to the case of the socket. I don't see much of another way of doing it

Roland is right! Pics would help! Often a cig lighter will have a grounding spade on it somewhere so you can ground it with a wire.

Default Cigarette lighter wiring

Problem solved--found an old style clamp with a brass screw---tightened it around the outer cylinder with the ground wire to the brass screw.
Didn't want to damaged the outer cylinder because it is not a common optional item.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
