I’m looking for part # and a source for a couple of seals. The ones I need are #5 and they are for a cc149.

The part number is on the cub cadet parts lookup page. And pretty much any cub dealer can get them

Make sure you read the manual on how to change those. You need to open the pump up and remove the trunnion shafts in order to replace the one on the control lever side. At that point you will need the case gasket and you should change the other two seals.

Thanks for the quick responses. Looks like the pump is coming back out
![]() I was hoping that they could be changed from the outside but looks like if I’m digging in that deep I might as well change all the seals. |

I strongly suggest that you down load the service manual http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=13226
and read the disassembly and repair procedures for the pump. One big area of caution is the removal of the roll pins that hold the trunnion shafts in the swash plate. It is not hard to do but if you screw it up you are in trouble. Make sure you keep everything CLEAN. Holler if you have questions. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
