Can anyone tell me where I can get a starter/generator shaft nut for my 100? When I took it off the last time, the threads didn't come with it. I think it is an 11/16 nut, probably 16-18 tpi. My dealer said they aren't available, and no local junkyards have any generator cars anymore. I looked at TS, with no luck. A buddy says to try Fastenal. I have looked at several CC parts dealers on line, without luck. Any ideas?

Try a real hardware store and look in the Hillman nut and bolt section.

You will not find that nut in a hardware store. It is a really strange size IIRC. Unfortunately I have no suggestions to offer.

I would see if you can find one by posting a ad in the wanted section.120 miles is a lot of $$$ for Gas for a nut.I may even have one...

Well, it is a fur piece, but I am going to a meeting about 10 miles away on Monday and Tuesday. I have two starters to rebuild, so I am doing pretty good.

If you can't find one any decent machine shop can make one for you. My friend of my dads had to do that with and Chevy generator a while back.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
