Default Hydro issues on a 149

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me out.. my 149 just does not have much power in reverse. if I am on flat ground it works just fine. But if I try to back up a hill it won't go forward or it will go very slow. I was having this issue previously but I adjusted the linkage and it seem to fix it but now it's back. I don't know if it's ever had a fluid change. I know I haven't done it yet. any help would be greatly appreciated

I agree, Do a fluid and filter change first and see if that makes a difference.
Let us know what happens and we will go from there.

It's a step in the right direction. We'll have to see how it do after the filter and fluid change. You might have to adjust the linkage back to where it was.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
