Default Chipper/Shredder

I picked up this chipper/shredder at an auction this weekend. It has a 7hp briggs with a centrifugal clutch. Overall the unit is in pretty good condition. Haven't tried to get the motor running yet. Any one know anything about this? I think it is a 79C and that they were produced by Mighty Mac??
I plan on doing some research and possibly unbolting the lift frame/motor mount and making a mount for one of my cadets. It would be much handier mounted on a tractor.

The 79C is the only true chipper they built if I remember right (if not someone will correct me). The others were shredders for small brush and leaves and such. That chipper chute is right in the way of the grill of the tractor if you try to mount it to a Cub Cadet. If you try to mount it from the other side it will turn the wrong direction. That particular chipper you have isn't the easiest to find. I'd leave it the way it is and enjoy the superior cababilities it has over the 59M that mounts to Cubs without the chipper chute on the side.
Mighty Mac still makes screens and stuff for these but they're pricey.

those are good machines. I have a 4 wheel model, about 10 years old. Hammer mill in the top feed and up to 3 inch stock thru the knife. I mean they can even pulverize stones. I about screwed mine uo with a 5/8 hitch pin when it accidently got tosssed into the hammers!!.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
