I was just wondering why 128's are so sought after, all over craigslist you see them in wanted ads. I found one that runs, has a good seat, in good original condition, nothing appears to be missing. Doesnt come with anything. Whats a reasonable price range?

I really don't think a 128 is more desireable than a 108 or a 102, 122, 124,etc. or any other common gear drives. Alot of guys look for them to use as pullers or maybe someone's looking to complete a series of cubs, find one their Dad used to have, dunno.

I'd have to agree with Josh, 128's are not too rare. They are a pretty nice tractor for work though. Ive put a few hours on the one I own and I love it for big open areas for mowing. If you could find one with a creeper or rear PTO the value tends to go up. I once had a guy who was prepared to offer me 800$ + for mine because he thought it was in good shape and it has rear pto.

The owner has a guy coming tomorrow to look at it. If he dont buy it, it is all mine for $275. Its really in good condition so I doubt the buyer ahead of me will pass it up.

I know around here the pullers like wide frame gear drives cuz they can fit all the big single kohlers and vtwins in them without cutting the frame. I've got a 128 with creeper, lights and 3pt and I love it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
