Default Rear end

Just wondering a couple things anyone know how much and O rear weighs? Are the O's rears the same as the later models? Like my 126?

The stuff for the CCO is pretty much just for it. The unit is more or less a belt drive unit. Where your 126 is driven straight off the fly wheel.

How about the internals? Are they going to be the same? I have found one with a pto so if the internals are the same I'll pick it up and swap out the gears..that is assuming they are usable..

EarlJ,

Most people do not openly talk about their rear end, but I'm glad you were bold enough to do so.... The weight of the rear end of an O is similar to the weight of the rear end of your 126-minus the fender pan, seat, etc. They probably do not come out identical to the exact pound, but I don't imagine there is a whole lot of difference between them.

I Think you have to pull the pto out of the cco and install it in the 126. Not sure cause Ive never done it. But I remember years ago Geezer telling me something about that and a top shaft at a cub gathering.

Thats what I was thinking, buy the rear have the guy pull the gears and ship those and then he can scrap the rear end.

I wouldn't scrap the rearend without the gears, as pullers like those with the gears already removed. A guy close to me, who is a puller, scraps the gears and will replace them with Dodge Dart gears for his pulling machines.
