Default More Questions on ISO Mounts For A Quietline

I took the engine out of a new to me 1450 (very late model) today, and as usual the ISO mounts were shot.

OK, I have read the Technical Section "Quietline Motor Rail Modification"

http://onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4630

Now I still have a couple questions.

The drawing calls for 1.50" x 8.50" (8.75") x 1/4"

Below in the writeup, 3/8" thick is mentioned!!

Which dimensions should I use?

I am leaning towards 1.50" x 8.75 x 3/8" if that is OK!!?? (I love belts AND suspenders!!)

In the "Iso Mount & Snubber" section it says to shim the snubbers to 0.06" to 0.12"

Is there a correct dimension of frame to ISO rail given anywhere??

It seems like this could vary with the amount the ISO mount is tightened.

Am I overthinking this??

My ISO mounts were so bad the right rear bolt went through the blower housing and the oil pan was cracked!! I had another pan!

As everything was so far off when I got the tractor, I would really like to know I set the frame to rail dimension properly.

I used 1/4 last year when i did mine
And for the clearance the snubbers are not touching the frame. Thats why there is a clearance the mounts are bolted down tight on the frame so there is no clearance to measure. I should just be the height of the medal insert inside the mount

AFAIK....there is NO dimension for the height of the lower ISO mount, to give you a clearance from the frame to rail. It is assumed if you have new ISO mounts, then you have the correct clearance. In addition, the gap on the snubber would give you and pretty good idea if the lower ISO mounts are with proper height.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
