Default cub cadet 1650 rpm and drawbar question

Hi

What would be the normal rpm to run mowing - say up in rabbit position?

And what would be the low idle rpm to want in the turtle position?

I want to try to adjust my cables on my 16 hp kohler to good work positions from idle to work levels.

Also, where is a diagram to show hook my drawbar from the lift connection back to the 3 point hitch lift. I am wondering just how to fit the movable piece at the end of the drawbar to the hydraulic lift.

Thanks
Earl

Earl you want 3600 WOT and I think Idle is 1200. It's in the service manual in the tech section of the site or you could download the engine manual from Kohler's site.

Default thanks for the rpm answere

Duke

I appreciate the help.

Are you running 3600 WOT when you are plowing ground?

I have plowed much ground as young feller many years ago using Farmall's like H's, M's, MTA's, and others - tobacco, corn and garden ground. It is nothing short of amazing to me to see you plowing ground with a 1650 in the videos I watched yesterday as well as you did. I had heard the plows mentioned but still wondered how good a job could be done with a cub cadet. Those videos showed you cutting a good furrow and turning over a good piece of dirt.

Thanks again,
Earl

The Service Manual states for the "best" cooling of your engine, running at WOT is recommended. I always run mine WOT until I am ready for a shut down.

Your welcome Earl! The ground we plowed was a briar patch before the bush hog took care of it. We were tearing threw their roots. I've got to go out there today and do some tilling so I'll get you a video of the tiller in action.

These are so well built and designed that they are true work horses. I've never been disapointed by the work they can do.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
